Bothell police say officers broke into car to rescue 2 puppies from heat

BOTHELL -- Police officers "broke in" to a car Monday to rescue two puppies who had been left inside in the heat, the Bothell Police Department said in a tweet.
"It's heating up, please don't leave pets in car, it gets hot quick," the department added.
"Puppies were thirsty, but otherwise OK ... this time," the department tweeted.
The owner of the puppies was issued a ticket and received an educational briefing by an animal control officer, the department said. It added that officers are trying to work with the owner to find a long-term solution for placement of the puppies.
