Bremerton police find 'massive amount' of stolen mail
BREMERTON- Bremerton Police officers found a "massive amount" of stolen mail in a secluded wooded area on Sunday.
According to police officials, officers found more than 500 pieces of mail including checks, gift cards, packages, holiday cards, bills and financial and medical information.
The stolen mail is believed to belong to nearly 100 victims who live in Mason, Kitsap and Pierce counties and Gig Harbor.
Police say it's likely many of the victims do not realize they have had mail stolen.
Investigators are processing the recovered items in hopes of identifying who is responsible and notifying the victims.
Bremerton Police caution people to watch their mail carefully and use the post office for outgoing mail.
