Candlelight vigil planned for 4-year-old gunshot victim

SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash, ---Trevor Braymiller, 25, appeared in a Skagit County courtroom Friday and is now facing several charges related to the accidental shooting of a 4-year-old boy.

Braymiller faces first and second-degree manslaughter charges, unlawful possession of a fire arm and possession of a stolen firearm stemming from the death of the boy on Sunday, July 21.

Four-year old Dwayne Kerrigan was found inside his Sedro Woolley home with a gun shot wound to his head. The gun used is owned by Braymiller, who was dating the boys mother.

Braymiller fled the area on foot and later turned himself in the next day.  Police began the investigation as a homicide, but an autopsy report concluded the gunshot was a self inflicted wound.

A candlelight vigil for Dwayne Kerrigan is being held in Sedro Woolley Friday at 8 p.m. The boy's mother and grandmother will be attending.  It will be held at Talcott Street and 26th Street.

Braymiller's next court appearance is set for 4 p.m. on Aug 24th.
