CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Seahawks, who arrived late Friday in Charlotte, were holding a walk-through today before Sunday's 10 a.m. (Pacific Time) season opener against the Carolina Panthers.
Cornerback Brandon Browner is listed as questionable for Sunday's game due to hamstring he injured during Wednesday's practice. He did not practice Thursday or Friday. Coach Pete Carroll said after practice Friday that the final decision on Browner's status will be made Sunday morning.
If Browner can't play, Walter Thurmond and Byron Maxwell will replace him on the right side -- Thurmond in the base defense and Maxwell in the nickel.
Seahawks Player to Watch: James Carpenter:
This will be the third-year guard's first regular-season game since Week 13 last season.
"He's ready to go," Carroll said. "He had a great comeback and he took more reps than anybody. We're trying to do that to make sure he's in condition well enough to play, and he is. So we're fired up that he made it back."
Opponent Player to Watch: Left Guard
With Amini Silatolu not practicing on Friday and listed as questionable for the Panthers, Chris Scott worked at left guard. Coach Ron Rivera told reporters in Charlotte that Travelle Wharton likely would rotate with Scott at the guard spot between veteran left tackle Jordan Gross and center Ryan Kalil. Wharton was not signed until after training camp.
