Charles Reece: Cowlitz County deputies arrest accused ID thief, days after being featured on WMW
FUGITIVE CAPTURED Feb. 25, 2013 --Cops say it was his tattoos that did the trick for ID'ing accused ID theft, Charles Reece. Just days after Reece was featured on WMW, The Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office says he was caught in the woods near Kelso -- cold, tired, and too tired to walk. The Sheriff's Office received a call late Monday night from a resident on Hazel Dell Rd., about 4 miles north of Kelso, reporting that they heard a man yelling for help in the woods. Deputies began a search in the dense woods and found the man. He said his name was Jonathan Benson. Deputies had been notified by Lewis County Sheriff's Office earlier in the week to be on the look out for Reece. Even though Reece continued to deny who he really was, deputies were able to confirm his identity through his tattoos. Reece was treated and released at St. John hospital for minor injuries he experience while lost in the woods and booked on his outstanding warrants. WANTED IN LEWIS COUNTY Feb. 22, 2013 -- Homeowners in Lewis and Cowlitz counties -- keep an extra eye out for his wanted 7-time felon who's M-O is busting into houses and stealing people's identities around there. Fugitive, Charles Reece, is wanted in Lewis County, Kelso, Chehalis, and across the state line in Oregon – being sought for a ton of crimes, including a lot of identity theft/fraud crimes, and a burglary where Reece is accused of stealing a gun. Put him on the ‘Dumb Criminal List’ too, since the way cops found so much evidence against him, is because he lost his wallet with a bunch of fake ID's in it, and it was turned into police.
