Chick-Fil-A to open in Tacoma?
TACOMA -- The Chick-Fil-A franchise hopes to open a drive-through restaurant in Tacoma sometime in the near future, the Tacoma News Tribune reported.
According to the Tribune, the Georgia-based company filed plans with the city of Tacoma Wednesday morning to open a restaurant in the area. The restaurant would be located at 3902 Steele St. near the Tacoma Mall in what was previously a furniture store. The restaurant would be the first of its kind in Washington state, the News Tribune reported, with others expected to open in the area because of supply chain needs.
The company is privately owned, and has recently come under scrutiny as its founders spoke out against gay marriage earlier this year, and have long been identified as conservative Christians.
