8 children taken to hospital after seizure-like symptoms during youth choir concert

Eight children were transported to local hospitals after they suffered seizure-like symptoms during a French youth choir concert at a church on Tuesday night near Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

What we know:
Cambridge Fire Department officials said in a release that the seizure-like symptoms suffered by the children were non-life-threatening.
Roughly 70 other people attended the Tuesday evening at St. Paul's Parish in Harvard Square and they were not affected.

Fire Chief Thomas Cahill told the Associated Press that crews initially received a call about a child suffering from a seizure. When firefighters arrived, the child was sitting outside the church but was not actively having a seizure.
What we don't know:
The ages of the children were not immediately released by fire officials.
The Cambridge Fire Department did a thorough inspection of the building and determined there were no hazardous conditions in the church.
Citing St. Paul's Facebook Page, the Associated Press, reported that the Chœur d’Enfants d’Île-de-France, a French youth choir, was offering a free concert at the church on Tuesday night as part of its 2025 U.S. tour.
