Cops: Driver -- with monkey on his back -- arrested after trooper clocks him at 112 mph

From Burien Police Department

BURIEN, Wash. -- A Washington State Trooper clocked a driver going 112 mph on SR 509 on Wednesday.

According to Burien police, the car exited at S 128th St and lost control striking a large rock in someone's yard.

Witnesses told police the driver jumped out of the car and started running, but realized he'd forgotten his pet monkey in the car. So he ran back, put the monkey on his back and took off.

"Burien officers found him and his partner-in-crime nearby and placed them both into custody for leaving the scene of an accident," Burien police wrote in a Facebook post. "Once we determined the monkey was not the driver, we released him to a family member since he was only engaged in monkey business."
