Deadbeat moms and dads exposed on state website
SEATTLE -- On the Department of Social and Health Services website, there is a "most wanted" section that features dozens of deadbeat parents who owe thousands of dollars in back child support.
A systems analyst from Lakewood owes $260,000 and one of the largest delinquent parents is a woman who owes $167,000 whose last known address is in Tanzania. You have to go six months without making a payment and be $5,000 behind in child support to be listed on the website.
The site is run by the state Division of Child Support and spokesman Adolfo Capestany says it's a measure of last resort.
"These parents have tried everything and this is really a last ditch effort. Someone may see these pictures and know the last known address of the person and where we can find them," Capestany said.
