Does the NBA hate Seattle? Players fined for UW alumni game
SEATTLE -- The NBA takes yet another shot at Seattle.
According to Yahoo! the league fined several players $15,000 each for participating in last month's University of Washington alumni game.
League sources say, under the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, players can't play in public offseason games prior to July 1 or after Sept. 15 without league approval.
Huskies head coach Lorenzo Romar organized the annual game which featured several former players who are now in the NBA.
Among those fined, Philadelphia 76ers forward Spencer Hawes, Memphis Grizzlies guards Quincy Pondexter and Tony Wroten and Sacramento Kings guard Isaiah Thomas.
