Downtown Seattle agency investigating fatal fight at housing facility
SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle's Downtown Emergency Service Center is launching an internal investigation into a fatal fight over the weekend at a supportive-housing facility.
The Seattle Times reports that the initial police report about the incident shows staff at the facility waited hours to report the fight to police and call for medical aid.
DESC spokesman Greg Jensen says that isn't true and that employees called medics as soon as it was apparent the 47-year-old man was injured on Saturday. He says the man declined medical assistance.
The man was taken to a local hospital and later died from his injuries.
Police have arrested a 55-year-old suspect in connection to the fight.
