Drummer from Portland killed on Mt. Olympus
CLALLAM COUNTY -- 28 year old Richard 'Grey' Liston is a remembered as a man who loved music and mother nature.
The Portland, Ore. man died Saturday trying to climb Mt. Olympus in the Olympic National Park.
Liston was a C.P.A. and a drummer for the band "The Smash Bandits."
He founded the band and recruited all six members on Craigslist.
They remember him as a North Carolina native who embraced Portland culture. To him that meant great beer, original music, and exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
On Sunday, the band cancelled their weekly practice to grieve the man they respected so much.
They vowed to keep his memory alive through his music.
