Dyron Thompson murder: One year later, Seattle Police still need help finding killer of loving father

dyron webWANTED IN SEATTLE -- A Seattle father kissed his babies good bye before going on his daily walk in Beacon Hill. That's the last time his mom saw him alive. One year later, the family of Dyron Thompson is desperate to find his killer, and detectives are asking for your help with the case.

"So I'm in the kitchen listening to the news around 10 and they said they found a body and a blood trail up on Beacon Hill and I said, Lord, don't let that be my son." Dyron’s mom, Gwen Williams is a woman of faith -- faith that has been challenged. "Two detectives come to the door. I looked at them and I didn't want to acknowledge them because I knew it had to be something wrong."

Her 35 year old son, a loving father to two young boys, ages 3 and 2, had been found dead near an alleyway in Beacon Hill. Murdered, police believe, by someone with a blade. Dyron’s mom says, "Every night he come in those babies jump up, my daddy, my daddy. I don't know what to say to them now. I told them he went home to be with Jesus because they always going in Daddy's room."

Detectives have a surveillance photo of Dyron from a 76 gas station near where he was found. Witnesses have put him in the area of Beacon Ave. S. and 15th Ave. S., in the hours before his death. “It`s important that anybody out there that sees this video, if you know this victim or you know his whereabouts, or even better who he`s running with at this time, that`s the kind of information we know,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “ This is an unsolved homicide.  A very serious case, but we gotta have your help.” Dyron's cousin, Kontessa Walker, says they have a lot of unanswered questions. "This totally took us for a shock. He was just someone who didn't do anything to anyone, very much just loved his kids, loved being at home, and just don't understand why anyone would hurt him like that." His family misses him, especially his mom who is praying someone will come forward and explain why Dyron was murdered and left to die. “Everybody's hurting right now. They're trying to process it. They don't believe it. They are waiting for him to walk down the sidewalk, and I'm waiting for him to come back in the back door. I'm waiting for him to put his arms around me and give me a kiss and say mom, I love you but it's not going to happen so whoever took my son's life I want them to think about the loved ones they took him from."
