Elderly couple found dead in Puyallup home in what may be murder-suicide

PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Police said Wednesday night that detectives were investigating the deaths of an elderly couple who were found in their home with a gun nearby and no forced entry into the house.

Police were called to the home at about 5:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of 18th Street NW when a person reported finding two elderly people dead in the house.

Officers found a 92-year-old woman and 79-year-old man dead in the home, a police news release said.

"A firearm was also found nearby where the victims were deceased. There were no signs of forced entry in the home," the news release said.

Police did not call it a murder-suicide, saying only that officers are conducting "a death investigation."
