Ex-Husky Desmond Trufant taken in NFL Draft's first round
TACOMA -- Former Washington Huskies cornerback Desmon Trufant was drafted Thursday night by the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 22 overall pick in first round of the NFL Draft.
The Falcons traded draft picks in order to move up from No. 30 to No. 22 to grab Trufant.
Trufant is the younger brother of Marcus, who was the Seahawks’ first-round draft choice in 2003 (the 11th pick overall); and Isaiah, who now plays for the New York Jets.
Trufant’s parents, Lloyd and Constance, held a draft-day party in Tacoma, where their sons grew up and attended Wilson High School before going to Washington State (Marcus), Eastern Washington University (Isaiah) and Washington (Desmond).
The Seattle Seahawks, which will play at Atlanta on Nov. 10, tweeted Desmond Trufant, "See you in Week 10."
