Explosion at fairground injures 2
SEATTLE -- Snohomish County officials reported that an explosion near the wood stove area at the Evergreen State Fair has injured two people.
The explosion happened when an employee of a fireplace vendor at the fair attempted to ignite a fireplace. The glass window blew out and injured a male and female working nearby.
A male who was injured was transported to Providence Hospital in Everett for injuries from flying glass and the female was treated at the scene.
Reports of the explosion came in shortly before 1 p.m. Monday. There is no word as to what caused the explosion.
The fire marshal removed the fireplace and cleared the vendor to resume operations.
