Fire races up cliff on Fox Island; threatened expensive homes
FOX ISLAND, Wash -- A fast moving brush fire rattled a few nerves on Fox Island in Pierce County Tuesday. N
eighbors say a group of kids were setting off fireworks on the beach when it sparked some nearby trees.
The fire raced up a cliff near 13th Court and Pilchuck Way, dangerously close to a few million-dollar homes.
The fire spread to about 300 feet before firefighters, with the help of a fire boat managed to put it out. No homes were damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.
