Fire traps three on deck
SEATTLE -- A Monday morning fire in the North Beach neighborhood trapped three people, including one man in a wheel chair, on a second-floor deck before firefighters were able to put out the blaze, Seattle Fire officials said.
According to the Seattle Fire Department, three people became trapped in the home after an overheated extension cord caught fire. The three individuals were forced onto a second-story deck until firefighters were able to arrive at the scene and put out the blaze.
No one was injured, and the Red Cross was helping find homes for the displaced individuals. Officials estimated the fire caused more than $100,000 in damage.
Seattle fire is investigating the cause of the fire.
