Head of state PDC stepping down effective May 31

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The head of the state Public Disclosure Commission is resigning.

In an email sent Wednesday, no reason was given for the pending departure of Andrea McNamara Doyle, who was appointed as executive directly of the agency in August 2011, but agency spokeswoman Lori Anderson says Doyle was not forced out and doesn't have another job lined up. She just wants to spend more time with her family, Anderson says.

Doyle's resignation is effective May 31. The commission will meet later this week to discuss recruitment for her replacement.

The executive director oversees the agency's staff of 16 and makes recommendations to the commission on interpreting and enforcing public disclosure law, among other duties.
