Husky fans can now snag all-purple license plates
Husky fans can now show their purple pride by displaying a new license plate on their cars.
UW plates are nothing new, but now, for the first time ever, they're available in an all-purple background, much like the all-crimson WSU plates that have been out for nearly 2 years.
According to the Seattle Times, the new purple plates feature a metallic gold W on the left side.
The plates are now available for between $27 and $67, depending on whether you already have a Husky plate.
This doesn't include licensing and service fees.
The good news is drivers don't have to wait for their current plates to come up for renewal to snag these new purple ones, according to the Times.
$28 dollars of the cost of the plates goes to the UW as a tax-deductible donation to the UW General Scholarship Fund.
The Seattle Times reports that as of this month, some 17,928 WSU plates have sold since the Department of Licensing started offering them in the mid-90's.
The Huskies, who have a larger alumni base have sold just 7,037.
