June snow in the Cascades!
Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park- Hard to believe that summer is only days away and we're seeing accumulating snow up at Paradise on Mt. Rainier. Snow levels today are hovering around 4,000 feet. The Nat'l Weather Service office in Seattle says in the last 100 years, Paradise on Mt. Rainier has only gotten more than 6 inches of snow 15 times. Today could likely be day number 16. The Paradise parking lot elevation is about 5,400 feet. Don't worry though, no big travel troubles since our mountain passes will just get rain.
