Kent City Council votes 5-2 to cancel controversial sale of Pine Tree Park

KENT, Wash. -- The Kent City Council decided Tuesday night to cancel the controversial sale of a city park.

Some residents complained the 10 acres of Pine Tree Park were sold to developers without their knowledge. According to the Kent Reporter, the council had approved the sale of the park to a developer for $2 million. The developer reportedly had plans to build 64 homes in that space.

But Tuesday night, the council voted 5-2 to cancel the sale.
