King County detectives reuniting burglary victims with stolen property

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. – King County sheriff’s deputies are looking to reunite burglary victims with recovered property.

Investigators discovered a large number of stolen items during a bust in Covington that happened in mid-March. Police said the property was likely from burglaries and car prowls

“This is rewarding,” said detective Jeff Johnson. “It kind of brings us back to why we get into this service in the first place.”

Fred Grishan said he found nearly half of what crooks snatched from his south King County home.

“I have a workshop and they actually cut a door through the sheet metal,” said Grishan. “They made their own door in the back of it.”

Police are asking victims to bring case numbers to the Maple Valley precinct, which will remain open until 8 p.m. Thursday.
