Lacey home damaged in early morning fire

LACEY, Wash --  An early morning fire Tuesday damaged a home in Lacey.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at a home on 20th Avenue SE just before 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. When crews arrived the garage was fully engulfed flames.

Flames also spread to the attic before crews could put it out. The home suffered smoke, heat and water damage, officials said.

Firefighters say the family inside was able to escape unharmed. They are currently staying with relatives.

Damage to the home is estimated at $150,000.
