Lacey Police searching for car prowl suspect

LACEY, Wash. - Lacey Police are hoping you can help identify a car prowler.  Investigators believe he's responsible for about 20 car prowls in a quiet Lacey neighborhood on July 4th.

“The neighborhood watch group everybody is posting everyday, so we all know what's going on. Then you hear about one and another and another and we're all like what happened what failed here? And there wasn't patrols out that night,” says Bailey Garrison.

Garrison says normally, one or two members of the neighborhood watch will patrol the area each night. But during the 4th of July festivities, people were too busy to patrol. She says her insurance card and phone were stolen from her car.  “Keep an eye on your belongings, keep them out of sight when they are in the vehicle and please keep your vehicle locked at all times you are not in it,” says Detective Jonathan Mason.

On seattle.gov - a neighborhood map reveals there were 12 reported car prowls in the Magnolia neighborhood on July 4th.  This is the neighborhood Nanette Magno calls home. She says she too fell victim to a car prowler not once, but twice.  “Two of our vans were broken into just two days apart. When we started talking to our neighbors we found out more cars were broken into just two blocks down the road,” says Magno.
