Deputies investigate major injury crash in Pierce County, WA
PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. - Deputies are investigating a serious crash in Pierce County that happened Wednesday morning.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) made the initial announcement on social media at around 7:09 a.m.

According to the post, all southbound lanes of Canyon Road were closed from 143rd Street East because of a major injury collision. At 12:24 p.m., authorities announced that all lanes had reopened.
The PCSD also shared a video of the crash scene, showing at least two vehicles involved: a white four-door sedan with a crushed hood and driver’s side doors ripped off, and a black pickup truck lying on its side.
FOX 13's John Hopperstad reported to the scene to learn more information. He was told that the driver of the pickup truck was traveling northbound, crossed over the center line and crashed into the sedan in the southbound lanes. The driver of the sedan had to be extricated by the fire department, and was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition. The driver of the pickup truck was also injured.
