Man allegedly shoots 2, leads cops on rural chase
SHELTON, Wash. -- Police arrested a suspect Tuesday night after he allegedly shot two people and led police on a car and foot chase in Mason County.
Shelton police were called at 7:08 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 1900 block of South 1st Street. Police said when they arrived, they spotted a vehicle fleeing the scene. Officers followed the vehicle until it crashed into a fence and a 53-year old suspect fled on foot. Officers caught up and arrested the suspect after a short foot chase through some woods.
Officers still at the original scene found a victim dead from apparent gunshot wounds and a second victim with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries to his hands and arms. The living victim was transported to Mason General Hospital for treatment, and was later released.
