Man dead in Central District shooting

Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly shooting Wednesday morning in Seattle’s Central District. 

Seattle fire officials said the shooting happened along 23rd Avenue South near South Jackson Street after 1 a.m.

Several callers reported hearing multiple shots fired. 

Police said when officers arrived at the scene, they found a man on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. 

Officers performed CPR on the man until medics arrived. 

According to officials the man, who’s in his 40s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.
