Man dies after being struck by car in Seattle

SEATTLE -- Authorities are investigating a deadly car crash that killed a pedestrian Tuesday morning in Seattle.

Seattle police were called around 6:40 a.m. to Denny Way and Taylor Ave N.

The 51-year-old driver was pulling his car out of a building when he heard the sound of an impact under his car. Police said he immediately stopped his car and discovered that his car had struck a man. The driver called 911 and waited for officers and medics to arrive.

Medics said the victim died at the scene. He was identified only as a man in his 50s.

The driver was interviewed and released pending further investigation.
