Man with gunshot wound found wandering near US 2

SULTAN -- Police are looking  into the circumstances of a man found wandering aimlessly with a gunshot wound Dec. 15 near US Highway 2 in Sultan.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said the Bothell man in his late 20s was spotted by a passerby late in the evening on Dec. 2 wandering with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the the Providence Hospital in Everett, and he was later released.

Police are looking into how and why the man was shot. Though officials believe the man was assaulted, they have not yet found any suspects. It is unclear if the man was cooperating with investigators.
