Mariners' bats quiet, lose to Yankees 6-1
SEATTLE --- The Mariners mustered only four hits as they lost the first of a four-game set, 6-1 on Thursday night.
Robinson Cano hit a three-run homer and Mark Teixeira followed with a solo shot as the Yankees scored six runs in the third inning. Former Mariner, Ichiro Suzuki was 1-4 with an RBI.
The Mariners dropped to 26-35 and 11 games back of first place Texas Rangers in the A.L. West.
