Marysville tragedy: A noble gesture from Oak Harbor High School football team

RENTON, Wash. -- The Marysville-Pilchuck High School football team practiced at the Seahawks facility Tuesday -- an invitation offered after the deadly, tragic shooting at the school.

Coach Pete Carroll and a few Hawks even stopped by to hang out with the team.

But that wasn't the only honorable gesture in the wake of the shootings.

Last Friday night, hours after the shootings, Marysville-Pilchuck and Oak Harbor were scheduled to play for a division title in football.

Rather than reschedule, Oak Harbor made the call -- and forfeited the game, giving Marysville the title.

A group of Oak Harbor football players even went to Marysville last Friday night to take part in a vigil, and show their support for everyone in that community.
