Metro bus hits, kills pedestrian
SEATTLE - Seattle Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a Metro bus Monday morning in Capitol Hill.
Shortly after 6 a.m., police say a Metro bus hit and killed an adult male pedestrian in the 1100 block of E. Pine St. in Capitol Hill. Officers were called to the scene and found the male lying in the street behind the bus.
Officials believe the man was in his 20s or 30s, the Seattle Times reported.
Three people were on the bus at the time of the crash, officials said, but they did not appear to witness the collision. Traffic collision investigation squad members were on the scene at 7:13 a.m.
A drug recognition expert was called in to evaluate the driver, which is routine in accidents involving Metro bus drivers.
