Missing mother arrested, endangered baby recovered; wanted sex offender father still on the run
CAPTURE UPDATE September 22, 2015 -- Puyallup Police say missing Puyallup mother, Myra Maria Aguilar, was arrested on Tuesday night and her endangered baby was safely recovered. She and her newborn were reported missing August 14. A Pierce County Superior Court judge has issued an “Order to Take Child into Custody and Place in Shelter Care” as the baby boy is believed to be in imminent harm, police said. Police said Jeshua’s mother was aware of the order and apparently fled with the child in an attempt to keep the child from state custody, police said. Puyallup Police said it's believed the child might also have been in the presence of the child’s alleged father -- convicted, missing sex offender, Levi Taylor. Taylor is still on the run with two felony warrants for his arrest — failing to register as a sex offender, assault, and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. FUGITIVES WANTED IN PIERCE COUNTY August 19, 2015 -- It's been 10 days since a Pierce County woman gave birth to an allegedly meth-addicted baby and went on the run with him. Now that woman's family is pleading with her to give herself up. "She didn't want them (authorities) to know she was pregnant," Pamela Aguilar said of her daughter Myra Maria Aguilar. "She didn't want them to say OK, you're pregnant, and try to figure out her due date because she was afraid that they were gonna take the baby. "I would like to ask her to please to call to go to a hospital to end this thing before it gets any worse," she added. The 31-year-old daughter gave birth to a baby boy on Aug. 9. Investigators say Aguilar has been on the run since and they're worried about the baby's condition. "Not only did she continue to consume meth while she was pregnant ... when the baby was born she refused to get medical treatment," Pierce County prosecutor Mark Lindquist said. "This infant desperately needs medical care." Prosecutors say the state took away another one of her children born addicted to methadone in 2011. She refused to disclose the due date of the new baby. Aguilar`s roommate told investigators the baby had blue lips and refused to eat just after delivery. The roommate says Aguilar refused to go to the hospital, saying Child Protective Services would get her baby over her dead body. The roommate said Aguilar used meth throughout her pregnancy and was using it when she was breastfeeding. Aguilar's family is hoping she'll hear the message and do the right thing, because -- as they say -- her life isn't the only one she's risking. Police say the newborn could also be with his father -- Levi Taylor, who is convicted sex offender with warrants out for his arrest. Aguilar's family believes she could be hiding in the woods in Washington or somewhere in California. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
