Seattle man missing since August found dead in Stevens County, deputies suspect homicide
STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. - A Seattle man reported missing in Stevens County last August has been found dead—along with the friend he was visiting there.
Family confirmed that 42-year-old Trevor Bresnahan and his dog ‘Bear’ drove from Seattle to Marcus, Washington in August. Bresnahan's mother told FOX 13 she last spoke with him the morning of Aug. 11, and he said he made it to his friends' home.
That was the last time she heard from him.
A week after he was last heard from, a woman called Trevor’s mother to say that she had found a dog wandering on Springdale-Hunters Rd in Stevens County with her contact number on it. That dog was Bear.
His mother drove out to pick up Bear that night. The dog was dehydrated and hungry, but otherwise unhurt. She then filed a missing person report for Trevor.
A dump spot was found at the summit of that same road with Bresnahan's clothes and items. A property owner then called the sheriff's office just days later to report a body on his land, which was later identified as Trevor. Deputies then found his 2006 Hyundai Accent shortly after.
Deputies suspect the death is a homicide, and might possibly be drug-related, though they are still waiting on toxicology reports.
Jennifer Mounts—the friend Bresnahan went to visit—posted on Facebook on Aug. 22 that she was putting up missing person flyers. She was found dead later that month.
Anyone with information on is asked to call the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office at (509) 684-2555 and reference case number 2208664.
