Neighbors nervous after attempted abduction
LACEY -- Neighbors in Lacey are nervous after a 10 year-old girl is almost abducted in front of her own home; meanwhile, detectives continue their investigation with no new leads.
A spokesperson with the Thurston County Sheriff's Office says they hope to release a sketch of the suspect in the next few days. Cops say a young, hispanic man tried to grab a girl Sunday evening in broad daylight. The girl fought back and screamed for help until the man let go.
He is described as a thin man with dark skin and short, black hair. He was in a dark green Honda or Toyota.
The girl is physically alright.
Amber Allosada heard all about the incident from her kids. She says she walks her children to and from school every day.
“I am very concerned about this area now that it happened," Allosada said. "It can happen anywhere. Yea, it did make me nervous. The kids talked about it yesterday at their school and that was the first thing they told me when they saw me yesterday mom, some girl was almost kidnapped. Yea it was scary.”
This attempted abduction happened near a school. Thurston County deputies have stepped up patrols in the area as a result.
