No more oops ... Mason County man who was released from jail arrested again

SHELTON, Wash.  — A man accused of shooting at a sheriff's deputy last month and recently released from jail in Cowlitz County was found and arrested again Monday, the Mason County Sheriff's office said.


Joshua Baker, 27, was arrested in Shelton.  He said he had planned to go see his state Department of Corrections supervising officer but just hadn't made it there yet, the sheriff's office said.

According to the sheriff's office, Baker shot at a deputy — who was not hit by the gunfire — during a high-speed pursuit on March 31.  He was later found an arrestedin Portland on April 4 and was being held at the Cowlitz County jail as a suspect in the shooting.

But sources tell Q13 News that there was a problem with the Mason County warrant, which led to Baker's recent release from jail. Officials believe he was given a bus ticket to the Olympia area.
