Police investigate homicide after man shot, killed in Tacoma
TACOMA, Wash. - Tacoma police detectives are investigating a homicide Thursday after a deadly shooting.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting before 10:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of St. Paul Avenue.
When police arrived, they found a 42-year-old man who was shot.
He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
A day after the shooting, police saw the 42-year-old suspect driving in Tacoma. When they attempted to pull the suspect over on I-5, the suspect sped off and a chase ensued.
The suspect abandoned the vehicle in the 5900 block of N. 26th St. and ran off. They were arrested a short time after.
Police arrested the suspect and booked them into jail on a first-degree murder charge.
It's unclear if the victim and suspect knew each other.
Tacoma police are continuing their investigation.
