Police search for suspects in pistol whipping

SEATTLE -- Police officers are searching for a group of men who pistol whipped a 20-year-old man during an attempted robbery Monday.

Witnesses called 911 after hearing a single gunshot at 14th Avenue and South Donovan Street, Seattle police said. Officers arrived to find a man with a cut on his face, who said he had been pistol whipped during an attempted robbery. The suspects fired once before jumping into an early 2000s blue SUV, and speeding away from the scene.

Officers are searching for the vehicle. Anyone with information on the robbery is encouraged to call 911.

Police are also investigating a report of gunfire near Rainier Avenue and Henderson Street. There are no reported injuries.
