Protecting your home from burglars

The type of  preparations you make when you go on vacation could potentially make you a target for thieves.

Detectives in California say they've uncovered roughly $1 million in stolen property from a burglary ring spanning the last three years. They said the victims are people who asked the Los Angeles Times to hold their newspaper while they were on vacation. Police said a vendor that distributes the paper sold the list of "vacation holds" to the alleged thieves.
