Puyallup man arrested after large cache of illegal fireworks found
PUYALLUP -- The Puyallup Tribal Police Department and Puyallup Police Department arrested a 40-year-old man Thursday for allegedly possessing a large cache of illegal fireworks.
The fireworks were stored in several storage units at an apartment community in the 1600 block of East Main, police said.
Due to the size of the cache and the type of fireworks located, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department Hazardous Devices Squad and Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms were summoned to the scene to assist with the identification and safe disposal of the fireworks.
The suspect is expected to be booked into the Pierce County Jail on several charges relating to the possession and distribution of illegal and highly dangerous fireworks, police said.
