Restaurant owner leaves note for dumpster diver that may surprise you

WARR ACRES, Okla. -- A restaurant owner left a message for the person who has been rummaging through their trash for food -- and it may surprise you.

The owner of an Oklahoma restaurant told KFOR she was heartbroken when she found out someone was going through the garbage looking for food.

“Last week, I had noticed some bags, when I had taken out the trash, were torn open and some of the food was taken out,” Ashley Jiron, the owner of P.B. Jams, told the station.

So she decided to post a sign on the dumpster:

“To the person going through our trash for their next meal, ou’re a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a classic Pb&, fresh veggies, and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked. Your friend, the owner.”

The owner said she is not taking down the sign until the person comes in.
