Seattle police arrest woman after finding boy dead

The Seattle Police Department said it arrested a woman on Sunday afternoon after finding a boy dead near the Atlantic neighborhood.

What we know:

Police said they received reports regarding an unresponsive child near the 2200 block of Grand Street around 12:24 p.m. 

When officers arrived at the scene, the boy was located, and despite lifesaving efforts by the Seattle Fire Department, he died at the scene. 

A woman at the scene was arrested for manslaughter. Police added that drugs may have been a contributing factor in the child's death. 

What we don't know:

The Medical Examiner's Office hasn't officially determined the child's cause or manner of death. 

The investigation into the matter remains active. 

Police did not specify the relationship between the woman and the child.
