Seattle police officer put on administrative leave during criminal investigation

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Police Department said late Monday night that an officer has been placed on administrative leave pending an ongoing criminal investigation.

It gave few details.

"Several months ago, the Seattle Police Department commenced a criminal investigation. During the course of that investigation, the SPD requested assistance from the FBI. The two agencies have been partnering on the case since that time.

"Last week, a Seattle Police officer was questioned by investigators and placed on administrative leave. He was not arrested and no criminal charges have been filed at this time.

"This is an active, ongoing investigation."
