Small rockslide covers part of Mountain Loop Highway

GRANITE FALLS, Wash. (AP) — The Snohomish County sheriff's office says a small rockslide has covered a portion of the Mountain Loop Highway between Darrington and Granite Falls.

Spokesman Shari Ireton says Wednesday that no injuries or property damage have been reported. The slide has temporarily closed the road and it's unclear when it will reopen.

Ireton says the rockslide was reported around 7 a.m. near a national forest service road, roughly 12 miles south of Darrington.
