Sounders FC and Shalrie Joseph agree to new contract

The Seattle Sounders FC and midfielder Shalrie Joseph have agreed to a new contract. The 35-year-old will no longer occupy a Designated Player spot for the squad. Joseph has started four times this season, playing 429 minutes. He is a four-time MLS Best XI player and eight-time All-Star. In his 11-year MLS career, Joseph has made 280 appearances, scoring 39 goals with 35 assists.
Sounders FC hosts FC Dallas on Saturday, August 3. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field.
