South Sound restaurant goes up in smoke
UNIVERSITY PLACE -- West Pierce Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at the Ale House Pub & Eatery, located on Mildred Street West, Friday morning.
Crews arrived to a kitchen fire with flames reaching the roof. The fire was quickly put out with a ladder truck.
Someone walking by the restaurant saw smoking coming from the building just before 4 a.m. and called 911.
Investigators have determined the fire started in the kitchen, but the cause is still under investigation by the Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office. No one was hurt and damage was mostly contained to the kitchen and roof.
