Star Husky TE Seferian-Jenkins suspended indefintely
SEATTLE -- Star University of Washington tight-end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was indefinitely suspended by the school's football program late Tuesday night pending an investigation into a DUI arrest, the Seattle Times reported.
According to the Times, head coach Steve Sarkisian made the announcement to the team after Tuesday night's practice. He said once an investigation by both the police and the UW is completed, the team would make it's own decision on whether or not to bring him back based on team rules.
The Times reported it is unclear whether or not Sarkisian will miss any games. The UW's first game is against Boise State on Aug. 31.
Sarkisian told the times that he was disappointed in losing Seferian Jenkins, but that he was a good kid and the team would continue to support him.
"Austin is a good kid," Seferian-Jenkins told the Times. "He made some mistakes but we will continue to support him."
Jenkins suffered minor injuries following a one-car accident near UW.
