Suspect arrested in Amber Alert case involving 15-month-old Auburn girl
AUBURN, Wash. -- Police on Wednesday canceled an AMBER Alert for a 15-month-old girl who was found safe. Police later arrested the suspect, her father.
Auburn detectives and Tukwila police arrested Anthony Burton in Tukwila at about 2:30 p.m. without incident. The suspect is in custody for investigation of felony domestic violence charges, police said, and he would be booked into the King County Jail on Wednesday or Thursday.
Earlier in the day, police say a friend of Burton's took the girl to Burton's mother's home in the Spanaway area. She was safe, but detectives continued their search for Burton.
On Sunday, police responded to a domestic violence threatening call involving Anthony Burton and the mother of his 15-month-old daughter A-Yana Burton.
Authorities said Burton used a gun to threaten the mother of his child and has made threats regarding law enforcement. He fled the scene before police arrived, taking the baby with him.
Burton has previously threatened the A-Yana's life, police said. He last spoke to police and family Tuesday afternoon. He had refused to return the child, who requires the use of a nebulizer every 6 hours. An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday morning.
