Suspect arrested in deadly Everett bar shooting, detectives working to determine motive

Detectives arrested a 22-year-old Everett man in connection to a fatal shooting outside a bar in early March.

The Snohomish County medical examiner identified 31-year-old Damien Navarro as the victim. The sheriff's office said a man, later identified as Octaviano Hernandez, shot and killed Navarro outside 128th Billiards in Everett on March 6, after they and 10–20 others jumped into a fight in the parking lot.

According to court documents, Navarro was shot at by Hernandez six times while running away. Navarro was shot in the head.

"There is no evidence to show he had committed any crimes in the immediate events prior to that moment, nor was there any evidence that he was armed with any weapons at the time," probable cause documents stated.

Sheriff's office detectives were able to use several videos taken during the shooting to identify Hernandez as the suspect.

Hernandez was arrested Tuesday at a job site in Everett.

Hernandez was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for first-degree murder, and following a court appearance Wednesday, had his bail set at $1 million.

Investigators say they still don't know a motive for the shooting.
